ChargeNet Installs 150kW DC Fast Chargers on Southern Expressway

ChargeNet, Sri Lanka's pioneering EV charging network, has completed the installation of 150kW DC fast chargers at Gelanigama, Welipenna, and Pinnaduwa rest stops along the Southern Expressway. This development dramatically improves long-distance EV travel feasibility in Sri Lanka. Each station features two CCS2 charging points and one CHAdeMO port, enabling charging for a wide variety of EVs. A 150kW charger can add approximately 150km of range to a typical EV in just 30 minutes. ChargeNet also announced plans to expand to the Colombo-Kandy highway by mid-2026, which will open up upcountry travel for EV owners.
